Dr Nils H. Thoennissen, MD, is an international specialist physician in cancer and chronic degenerative diseases. His doctoral thesis in neurological regenerative medicine research was rewarded with the highest distinction “summa cum laude”. Dr Thoennissen serves as one of the honourable members of the medical advisory board of the Demarest Clinic. Before joining our team, he dedicated 20 years in evidence-based medicine and over 14 years in hemotherapy, including blood transfusions, and stem cell transplantation.
After graduating from the University of Muenster, Germany, Dr Thoennissen, went to the United Kingdom to pursue further higher education and successfully completed his post-graduation from Cardiff University School of Medicine, Great Britain. From 2008 to 2010, he carried out his postdoctoral research in Hematology/Oncology at Cedars-Sinai-Medical-Center, UCLA, Los Angeles. Dr Thoennissen, MD, worked as a Hematology/ Oncology Department and Emergency Department consultant in the University Clinic of Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany. His remarkable presence as an investigator of several clinical studies related to treatments of blood disorders and malignancies has earned himself a reputation of an eminent contributor.
As a senior physician and author, Dr Nils currently has over 40 impressive clinical and scientific publications in various peer-reviewed international journals. He received many awards by prestigious universities and other entities in Germany and America, including Travel Award 51st and 52nd Congress of American Society of Hematology in the consecutive year 2009 and 2010.
